Virgil Dale Smallwood

Virgil Dale Smallwood, age 89, of Camden, OH passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at his residence.  He was born March 12, 1933 in Greenbush, OH to the late Virgil C. and Nellie Elizabeth Smallwood.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran that served in Germany during the Korean War; was a member of the West Elkton Church of Christ; and enjoyed woodworking, farming and beekeeping.  He retired from EGG company (Mound) in Miamisburg, OH.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty L. Smallwood.  He is survived by his children: Carol (David) Myers of Camden, OH, Timothy (Vicki) Smallwood of Germantown, OH and Thomas (Cynthia) Smallwood of Middletown, OH; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and one expecting great grandchild.  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Gratis, OH.  Gard Funeral Home, Gratis, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420.  Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent by visiting www.gardfuneralhome.com.
